The housing mounting bracket is covered by U.S.
Patent numbers 4,991,815 and 6,679.467 and is intended to protect
security devices for which aim is critical. Once set and aimed,
the housing cannot be unaligned, tilted or stolen by vandals or
other unauthorized persons. It can, however, easily be repositioned
or removed by maintenance personnel who have access to a special
proprietary tool.
The housing barrel is designed to rotate. (This
capability is covered by the second patent.) This feature enables
a right-side up image when housing is ceiling-or wall-mounted,
and compensates for angled or irregular mounting surfaces. It
also allows for selection of camera image as a horizontal or vertical
format.

Video (CCTV) Camera
Housings
The housing is constructed of a seamless
stainless steel cylindrica and has a ballistic three-ply
polycarbonate window. It is designed to defeat the most
determined vandal or thief intent on breaking or damaging
the housing or stealing the valuable camera inside, and
also to protect video cameras from outdoor elements and
weather extremes. The mount is as described above. |

Vandal-Resistant Universal Equipment Mount
Originally designed for NYC Transit, has
received two U.S. patents as the only vandal-resistant mount
in the world. It is intended for security devices
for which aim is critical. Once set and aimed, the
mirror or other device (such as a CCTV camera housing),
cannot be moved or tampered with.
Test results demonstrate that SecureVue’s
flange (normally welded to adjustable mirror or CCTV camera),
can withstand a force of 260 lbs. without tilting. Test
also proves that mounting head can withstand a torque force
of 260 lbs. without twisting (rotating). It should be noted
that 260 lbs. is the limit of test apparatus capacity, although
it is estimated flange can withstand a force of 500 lbs.
or more. This means that a very large vandal, hanging from
the housing or mirror, cannot unalign its aim. |
